Piranha 3D Trailer Released --But Film Release Delayed
Piranha 3D, the horror film shot entirely in Lake Havasu City last spring is seeing the light of day with the release of a trailer (shown in some theatres with "Avatar.") It features short glimpses of the Bridgewater channel and the lake itself (known onscreen as Lake Victoria) as well as actors Richard Dreyfuss, Christopher Lloyd, and Adam Scott. Unfortunately, the release tagged at the end --April 16, has already been changed to late August. Why a minimum of a four month delay? Producers say it's to make room for the new Nicolas Cage action film ("Kick Ass") which would target the same demographics. Both flicks will be released by the Weinstein Company, which is having major financial problems. Various publications, including the L.A. Times and sources in Hollywood say the delay is linked to that problem and others matters as well.
Meanwhile, take a look at the trailer ---
