Authorities have released the name of the man whose vehicle plowed into the Edgewater Hotel and Casino yesterday and they say he'll face charges for the deadly incident. 70 year-old Walter McGie, Kelso, Wash., was arrested Wednesday night on two charges of reckless driving causing death.
Las Vegas Metro police said McGie told investigators he fainted before the SUV he was driving smashed through the entrance, coming to rest in the casino lobby. Two casino patrons who were struck by the vehicle were dead at the scene.
McGie and seven other casino patrons suffered assorted injuries. McGie and two patrons were treated at the scene while five other patrons were taken to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
The names of the deceased are withheld pending notification of kin.
