The Mohave County Medical Examiner's office has concluded human remains found January 28 are those of a homicide victim. Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Trish Carter said the coroner determined the male victim believed to be 55 year-old James Keefer, Glendale, died from a 9 millimeter gunshot wound to the chest.
Keefer's roommate Greg Hawkins and Hawkins' associate Cynthia Langrall also died from 9 millimeter gunfire. Investigators have said Hawkins shot and killed Langrall December 20 but they're unwilling at this point to say that they're certain that Hawkins also killed Keefer.
Carter said authorities believe the Mohave County murder took place December 20, off Franconia Road, about 8 miles southeast of Topock. Langrall was shot and killed December 21 while jogging in her Glendale neighborhood.
Hawkins took his own life by gunfire inside his mother's residence December 30 after a ten hour standoff with law enforcement authorities in northern California.
