The Mohave County Sheriff's Office reports the arrest of a Golden Valley man who allegedly used a pet leash to strike his girlfriend's four year-old son. An investigation began when pre-school officials noticed the boy appeared to have been harmed.
Deputies confirmed the boy had suffered bruising to his back and bottom. Sheriff's office spokeswoman Trish Carter said investigation determined that Rufus Crump, 40, became upset with the child and struck him with the leash at a Golden Valley residence.
Crump was arrested in Kingman and booked into the Mohave County jail for child abuse.
